Creation of a Custom Hat : Head Measurement

1) The first step in getting a truly custom fitted hat is to get your head measured by a Conformateur. This antique device was made in Paris, France in the 1840's. Very few of these machines still exist today.

2) The Conformateur gives us a pattern of the size and shape of your head. This companion piece is the Formillion. It is adjustable and the outside perimeter conforms to the shape of the pattern created. Although two people may have the same circumference, very few heads are shaped alike.

3) Once you've decided on the Color, Style, Quality and Trim we choose a hat body that will make the hat you've chosen.
